Cu2+ copper ion probe II (R6G) has high selectivity and sensitivity to Cu2+ ions. When the water sample contains Cu2+ ions, the copper ion probe reacts with the copper ions to undergo a ring-opening hydrolysis reaction, generating product 2 that emits light under the excitation of a specific wavelength of excitation light. The fluorescence intensity is proportional to the product, so the detected fluorescence intensity can be used to detect the content of copper ions in the water sample. Moreover, bioimaging shows that the probe can detect copper ions in cells.
